Summary of Act 3
In act 3, it begins with the men (Cleomenes and Dion) returning from Apollos with the sealed envelope containing the Oracle which will either vindicate or condemn Hermione to a life of solitude in prison. Leontes in his delusion opts to publicly embarrass Hermione by bringing her before a court for every in to hear what she has 'allegedly' done. The Oracle is read aloud annns it revels that she us innocent if the accusations that her husband hurls at her however, he completely disregards the results as it is now what he wants to hear, it does not satisfy his insatiable need to humiliate his wife. During all this madness sad news comes to the court as Mamillius had died unfortunately because he was worried about his mother's impending fate. Hermione faints and then Paulina begins her rant on Leontes for causubg all this drama. Unfortunately, its too. Late as she announce that Hermine Hhas died as well. Leontes, feeling rather remorseful vows to visit the bodies of his wof and child everyday as he bugs for forgiveness for being a a presumptuous and cantakerous man and for doubting the Oracle. He prays th Apollos the god. meanwhile, antivirus takes the newborn babe away to be killed according to the orders of Leontes. He secretly hopes that the child will be found and be safe. he had a dram that he should name th e child 'Perdita' meaning lost one. He placed the baby down along with her lineage and a box of gold until a bear appears and unfortunately he is mauled to death. While some shepherds come and find the babe alk ng with the gold and her lineage and decide to take her in as their own.
